We were so honored to have been a supporting sponsor and to have attended Salisbury Pride this past Saturday. We were able to meet a lot of amazing people and have great conversations about travel. One thing we strive for at Seven Port Travel is to provide friendly travel to the LGBT community, as well as educate our clients on countries that tend to be LGBT friendly vs. those that aren’t.
Most people love to travel, but the members of the LGBT community face struggles in some countries, and need to encounter it with a good understanding of the laws, and the do’s, and don’t’s of each country they wish to visit, which is why we do what we do.
We love helping all people see the world, because all people deserve to see the world, after all, we all live in it.
We were able to pass out brochures from a couple of our suppliers, one being GoGo Vacations and the other being Abercrombie and Kent. We love each of these suppliers and would love to introduce any of you to an adventure they provide. At this event we also offered a few items as a giveaway, one of my favorite giveaway items was a Pride Lokai bracelet. They use it as a reminder that all people deserve equal rights, no matter who they are or who they love. Lokai also donates $1 to LGBTQ+ charities and organizations for each Pride Lokai sold. I don’t know if you have ever seen a Lokai bracelet but if not you should check it out, they have all sorts of bracelets offering different meanings. There is also a white bead and black bead on each, the white bead is infused with water from Mt Everest, and the black bead contains mud from the Dead Sea, the highest and lowest points on earth. We are so happy to have invested in Lokai’s mission to help the community.
Jasper, my assistant, the sometimes friendly Ruby Macaw, my partner in crime, and in travel was able to attend as well. Everyone loved her and she loved meeting everyone as well. There was also a gentleman there that brought his Green-Winged Macaw. Jasper is a hybrid, her mom was a Scarlet and her dad was a Green-Wing, so it was pretty awesome to have the opportunity to introduce her to a Green-Wing. She loved being able to talk bird to another bird and of course I hope it was about travel.
